Being a mother and raising daughters is a universal experience that women share. Whether celebrity mom gracing stages and screens around the world, or a stay-at-home mother fulfilling the duties of a homemaker, women and girls alike all benefit from the positive words, encouraging experiences and the lessons of others. Last night was the viewing of the Black Girls Rock! Awards Ceremony which was taped at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center’s Prudential Hall in New Jersey.
Founded by Beverly Bond, Black Girls Rock! is an annual award show founded by former DJ and model Beverly Bond, that honors and promotes Black women in different fields involving music, entertainment, medicine, entrepreneurship and visionary aspects. Last night at the 2019 Black Girls Rock! ceremony veteran actress and mom Angela Bassett (Avengers: Endgame, Mission: Impossible-Fallout, Black Panther, How Stella Got Her Groove Back, Waiting To Exhale) was presented with an award, and her acceptance speech was inspirational and laced with gems of wisdom that all moms and daughters can gain great insight from.
